Edit Like a Pro: Editors Canada’s series of editing exercises, designed to test alignment with Professional Editorial Standards 2024.

For the structural editing volume (published 2024), I did the following:

  • Recruited a copy editor and a proofreader, reviewed their work, and coordinated approvals through multiple phases.

  • Gathered feedback from all stakeholders and coordinated edits to align with the approved feedback.

  • Collaborated with a graphic designer to create accessible documents in multiple file formats.

  • Recommended new pricing structures.

  • Recruited a subcommittee of volunteers.

  • Analyzed existing material against the current and future needs of editors. Consulted with industry experts.

  • Recruited professional editors to write and develop exercises.

  • Coordinated testing of the exercises in development.
